Some exciting activities at Milpara

Come Chat is a new activity on Friday afternoons.  We have a warm space, friendly face and the urn will be hot.  Did you become a bit of hermit last year?  Feeling a bit lonely? Or just want to spend some time in good company?  Well this s a great excuse to get out of the house, meet new people and reconnect.  It’s a safe warm space to share some company, laughs and a cuppa.

Keep your brain active with a fun session on Tuesday mornings.  Games, puzzles and crosswords can be a great was to exercise your brain.  So we have set aside a time so you can get together with others and enjoy brain exercise in company.  Bring along your favorite to share with others or just bring yourself.

Gals this is for you! ‘Women in the Shed’ will be a six week course run on Thursdays 10 am – 3pm, starting May 20.  With an experienced female tutor you can feel comfortable as she supports you through different projects to build your confidence and capacity to use hand and power tools. This activity will be held at the Korumburra Men’s Shed. Limited places are available so bookings are essential.

Are you confident in having conversations with someone you are concerned about?  It’s something we’re all likely to come across at some point in time, that point when you are wondering might this person suicide? Would you be thinking I don’t know what to say, I might say the wrong thing, I don’t have the skills to ask. Don’t think that, feel confident and know what to say by attending one of our free workshops because together we can reduce our scary suicide rates.  We are running a QPR – Question Persuade Refer workshop on Thursday morning May 6 and a Rural Minds Day Workshop on Thursday May 20.  Book your places by calling Milpara 56552524
