Term 2 will look a little different but what will be on?

Term 2 2020 will look a little different at Milpara. It is too early to say how different.  Instead let’s tell you what we know we will be offering.

The following classes will be moving online until we can again offer them safely  face to face. Are essential as minimum enrolments are required for workshops and courses to go ahead. Bookings are considered tentative until payment and enrolment forms are received.  Links to Zoom classes will be provided once enrolments have been confirmed. 

Delve into Tarot $84: Tarot cards are used for spiritual growth, fortune telling, gaining personal insights, and uncovering the hidden side of situations.  Whether you are an absolute beginner or have had some experience with tarot cards and want to sharpen your skills, this hands-on weekly class will teach Have your tarot cards ready and have some fun while you learn the art of foretelling the future. 
7 Mondays  April 27 – June 15 10 am – 11.30 am

Short course in Mindful Self-Compassion (SC-MSC) $250: The International US-based Center for Mindful Self-Compassion in partnership with John Julian presents:  A 6-week program developed from the evidence-based healthcare adaptation of Mindful Self-Compassion, an empirically supported program of Dr. Kristin Neff at UT Austin and Dr. Chris Germer at Harvard Medical School. Research conducted in 2019 suggests that the short course program leads to a reduction in stress, depression, secondary traumatic stress and burnout, and an increase in compassion, mindfulness, and job satisfaction in healthcare professionals.

Magic of the Hook – Crochet $25: All crochet stitches are based on the action of a loop pulled through another loop with a hook. With some magic hook action, you’ll learn to transform wool into samples of fibre art. Suitable for beginners, youth and those wanting to refresh their skills, or those who are stuck on a project. If you can, bring along your own 4 mm hook and 8 ply wool, or the project you are working on.  
6 Wednesdays Feb 19 – Mar 25 5:30 pm – 7 pm

Learn French  $160: Rachel would like to share and help people learn her native language, French.
Beginners  8 Fridays  Feb 7 – Mar 27          6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Next Step  8 Saturdays  Feb 8 – Mar 28   10 am – 12 noon

Unhurried Conversation FREE: In an unhurried conversation there is time to think differently and connect with people in a refreshing way. Unhurried isn’t always slow, but it has a pace where people find it easy to join in and not feel crowded out. And listening can be as satisfying as talking. We’ll use a simple format to create good, human interaction while enjoying a cuppa.  3rd Monday of month.

The Craft of Story Writing  $50 + $10 admin: Whether you are a budding author, diarist, blogger, poet or family historian, join this group on a voyage of discovery to uncover your writing talents and stories. Shape your ideas, hone your writing and editing skills and create great writing that will keep your readers turning the pages.  Our popular The Craft of Story Writing class now has an evening option, delivered to you at home.  All you need is a smart phone, tablet or computer with Wii fi access and we will email you a weekly link to access the class, delivered via zoom.

Journaling & Blogging $50 + $15 admin: Come an explore the wonderful world of a   Journals diary or blog for creativity, self exploration and self development.  Who knows where you can take it. 
6 Tuesdays Feb 18 – Mar 24  10 am – 11.30 am

English and Maths Class $50.00 + $15 admin: Would you like to improve your reading, writing, comprehension or spelling?   Or would you like to improve your maths skills?  This class is designed to assist people to reach their goals.  Past students have attended to learn basic reading to improve their independence and to improve their skills to assist their children and others to pass entry exams for further study.  Whatever your goal, you will find this a friendly supportive environment. 
9 Mondays April 20 – June 22 10 am – 12 noon

Speak English $50 + $15 admin: Learn to speak and understand English in a friendly, relaxed class, if English your second language.
11 Thursdays April 16 – June 25              7 pm – 9 pm

Learn English $50 + $15 admin: Learn to read, write and speak English with confidence in a friendly, relaxed class. 
11 Fridays April 17 – June 26              10 am – 12 noon
