Take Control of your Addictive Behaviours

Did you know that SMART Recovery is an accessible, FREE weekly group support for people struggling with addictive behaviours?

SMART Recovery is an evidence-based group program assisting people to gain greater control over problematic behaviours, including addiction to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, food, shopping, internet and others. The group is friendly and open, based on principles of harm minimisation, self-management and mutual aid, and run by trained facilitators using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques.

Running in South Gippsland for over 12 months, the group has supported many individuals to gain greater control over addictive behaviours. The model addresses motivation, coping with urges, problem solving and working toward lifestyle balance. With a focus on the present and immediate future, participants set manageable goals with assistance from facilitators and the broader group.

* This group is also relevant for individuals completing a Community Corrections Order and some work-ready and mutual obligation programs. Evidence of participation can be provided on request.
