Milpara Korumburra’s Community House welcomes you!

Welcome to Milpara Community House. We’re glad you dropped by to visit.  Since 1979 we have been helping and educating the Korumburra community.  We are proud to support our community in the following ways:

  • Adult Education: to improve skills and enjoyment of life.
  • Special interest classes and social groups/opportunities.
  • Community Support: via Emergency FoodBank, Services Australia (Centrelink) Agent – Part time, and Job Bulletin Board.
  • Supportive atmosphere with friendly faces.
  • Community Information.

Milpara Community House has now transitioned to our new home in the Korumburra Community Hub at 15 Little Commercial Road, Korumburra. There will be some activities continuing at 21 Shellcot Road Korumburra until the end of Term 4 2023.

Our vision is that all people living in the Korumburra and district community will have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. So let us know what you’d like to see at Milpara. We are here to respond to our communities needs.

Meeting Place

Milpara means “Meeting Place”. We provide a venue for many groups. If you are new to the area we offer a New Comers Luncheon once a term so you can meet some locals, chat and ask questions about your new community.

Learning Centre

Milpara Community House in Korumburra is a Learn Local Organisation.  We provide a variety of adult education opportunities from special interests, crafts, general education, computers and technology.  For a full list on what is on offer this term head over to  (Courses) .   

 ACFE Adult Education conditions  – some adult education courses are subsidised by Adult, Community & Further Education (ACFE). To qualify for an ACFE subsidy you must be looking to increase your skills to return to study, gain employment or to get a better job or promotion. ACFE will also provide subsidies to people who have not completed Year 12 and who would like to gain basic skills including literacy and numeracy skills, and English as a second language. ACFE course costing consists of two components: a minimum tuition fee of $50 plus a student amenities fee for each course which covers the materials and amenities.

Services

Do you need help? Milpara provides a range of community support services including a Services Australia/Centrelink Agency; Emergency Food Bank; and if you need help Milpara will refer you to the appropriate support agency and more (LINK to support services)
